The classical teaching of Mai Ram Yoga tells us that during meditation we should first calm the body (by choosing a comfortable and stable meditative posture), we should breathe calmly and try to withdraw our senses from external objects so that they do not interfere with our attention. By meditating, we learn to concentrate on a specific object of meditation and to maintain this focus for increasingly longer periods.
